Trebitsch Lincoln, Ignaz

(1879-1943)

   Hungarian political activist. Born in Hungary, he was bapitized and went to Canada and was ordained. Later he moved to England and became a curate, but left the ministry. He became a member of parliament in 1910. During World War I he became a double agent to England and Germany. When the British sought to arrest him, he fled to the US; he was later extradited to England and imprisoned. He later went to Berlin where he was involved in right- wing politics. Subsequently he lived in China where he was an advisor to warlords. He later became a Buddhist monk.
